Our first selection (Cardiff) are starting to find the net recently, with 8 goals scored in their last 3 games (2 wins, 1 draw), where as before that they had only scored 3 in their last 6 games in all competitions. This is fairly bad timing for todays opponents (MK Dons) who have lost their last couple heavily, although one of those was against Premiership side Chelsea in the FA Cup. Generally speaking though, Cardiff are pretty strong when playing with home advantage, losing only 1 of their 14 home league games this season. Their defence is also very strong at home, conceding less than a goal per game. MK Dons have a poor away record, they struggle for goals (scoring only 10 in 14 away games) and their defence could be better. Away from home they have won just 1 game all season, and i don't see them adding to that today against Cardiff team with decent form and good strength when playing at home.
Our second selection (Atl Madrid) will be looking to bounce back from their loss to Barcelona last time out and maintain their pressure at the top of the table. They picked up 2 red cards in that match, meaning 2 of their starting back four will be out today, and Juanfran will also be out through suspension due to his collection of yellow cards. They do however defend as a team, and they have decent squad depth, so i expect them to still be defensively strong. The good news is that Eibar's top goal scorer (Baston), who has scored 15 goals this season, will not be able to play as Eibar decided not to pay the 150,000 euro fee required to play the Atl Madrid loanee. Atl Madrid beat Eibar 2-0 earlier in the season, and i don't see enough reason for them not to secure another win today when they have home advantage.
