Our first selection (Cardiff) are starting to find the net recently, with 8 goals scored in their last 3 games (2 wins, 1 draw), where as before that they had only scored 3 in their last 6 games in all competitions. This is fairly bad timing for todays opponents (MK Dons) who have lost their last couple heavily, although one of those was against Premiership side Chelsea in the FA Cup. Generally speaking though, Cardiff are pretty strong when playing with home advantage, losing only 1 of their 14 home league games this season. Their defence is also very strong at home, conceding less than a goal per game. MK Dons have a poor away record, they struggle for goals (scoring only 10 in 14 away games) and their defence could be better. Away from home they have won just 1 game all season, and i don't see them adding to that today against Cardiff team with decent form and good strength when playing at home.
Our second selection (Bastia) are not doing particularly well in the French Ligue 1. They sit 3 points away from the relegation zone, they have lost 12 of their 24 league games, score less than a goal per game on average, and have lost 3 of their last 5 games. However, and this is a big however, they are playing Troyes today! Troyes are pretty much already relegated, they have 1 win in 24 games, compared to Bastia's 8 wins (all when playing at home), they score even fewer goals than Bastia, and they've conceded a massive 49 goals. Put simply, Troyes just aren't Ligue 1 quality. Combine that with the incentive Bastia have to avoid relegation, and the fact that they actually have decent home form of 8 wins and 4 losses (3 of which were against top 3 teams), Bastia should be expecting a win today, and at the very least they should be able to come away with a point.
