Our first selection (Malaga) should probably have a better home record than they do (4 wins, 3 draws, 3 losses). On the balance of play, they are the better team most of the time but they just struggle for goals which makes it hard for them to convert their good play into wins. They even had more goal attempts and attempts on goal than Barcelona in their 2-1 defeat, but they do lack goal scorers, with most of their goals coming from Brazilian Charles. Fortunately their defence is very good, with only 7 goals conceded in 10 home games, so they are difficult to beat. Their opponents today really struggle away from home. They have just 1 win from 10 away games, and a very poor away goals ratio of 9 scored and 24 conceded. Malaga should once again be the better team on the balance of play tonight, and Getafe's leaky away defence should definitely help Malaga increase their chances of convert their good play into a win, on top of that Malaga do have a very good home historical record against Getafe.
Our second selection (Nimes) are one of the in form teams in the French Ligue 2, having won 4 of their last 5 games, and scoring a decent number of goals in the process (13 scored). They have only lost 1 of 12 home league games this season, yet are in the bottom 3 positions in the league, however this is largely due to being penalised by -8 points. In their last match they were brought back down to earth with a 2-0 defeat away from home to AC Ajaccio, however they have home advantage tonight so will be looking to return to winning ways. Tonight opponents Niort seem to draw the majority of their games, with 14 draws in 24 games, and although they are difficult to beat, they do struggle to secure the wins, with only 4 league wins all season. Historically this match up seems to favour whoever is playing at home, and with the incentive being strong for Nimes to get out of the relegation zone, i see them being likely to come away at least a draw tonight.
