Thursday's Double Suggestion!

4th Feb 2016

Thursday's fixture choice is very limited (as usual), and as a result i'm having to select entirely from the less predictable Cup games, therefore i'm just going to post a double suggestion today. So if you have any doubts, just wait for the next official "Tipster's Double".

Double:
Fleetwood v Barnsley - Asian handicap (+0.5, +1.0 Barnsley)
PSV v Utrecht - Asian handicap (-1 PSV)

At time of posting, odds were 2.00

These matches can be found in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, and the Netherlands Cup.

Our first selection (Barnsley) are on a real hot streak, winning 100% of their games in January, and having their manager Lee Johnson nominated for Manager of the month. They also have a striker in very good form, Sam Winnall, scoring 7 goals in January alone. They have moved up the League One table to sit in a mid table position now, and if they can keep adding to their 6 straight league wins, they should climb higher still. They drew their first leg of this semi-final with Fleetwood 1-1, but even though they are the away team today, with their current form, i think they can get something out of this match. Fleetwood haven't won any of their last 4 matches, so they are struggling to close out games. Their home form has been pretty good, however without a prolific goal scorer, this could be a tight set up for them tonight, and i don't see either team winning by more than 1 goal, which is why the +0.5, +1.0 handicap for Barnsley should increase the safety of this selection.

Our second selection (PSV) are currently the most in form team in the Netherlands Eredivsie, and tonight they are up against a team in the Netherlands Cup who appear to be stuttering a bit (Utrecht). PSV are last seasons League Champions and after a poor start they have finally climbed back to the top of the table. They have won their last 5 matches in the league, scoring 16 goals and conceding 7 in the process, and their home record is very impressive, with 8 wins, 2 draws, and 0 losses. Utrecht on the other hand are coming off the back of 2 losses in the league, one of which being a very poor performance against Twente. They play far better with home advantage, where they are unbeaten in the league this season, but away from home they have lost 7 of their 12 games. Unless there is a major upset tonight, this should be a win for PSV.
