Our first selection (Tottenham) are starting to look like title contenders, defensively strong, dangerous in front of goal, and able to find a way to win even when things aren't going their way, as we saw against Palace recently. In fact, they have the strongest defence in the league this season (conceding just 19 goals in 23 games), which isn't something you could say about Tottenham in the recent past. They are in great form at the moment, winning their last 4 games, scoring 13 goals and conceding only 3 in the process, and they haven't lost an away league game since early August when Man Utd edged a tight game 1-0. On top of that, todays opponents Norwich have lost their last 4 matches, conceding 14 goals in the process, so form is not in their favour. However, their home form is generally better than their away form, but i still think Tottenham have too much quality and form to lose this match.
Our second selection (West Ham) are contenders for a Europa League spot, just 1 point behind 5th place Man Utd. After losing their first 2 home games of the season, they haven't lost any of their last 10 home games, which dates back to September. Their recent for has also been very good, with impressive draws against Liverpool and Man City, and they have only lost 1 of their last 12 games in all competitions. Aston Villa's form has also picked up recently, however narrow wins against Wycombe and a hugely out of form Crystal Palace shouldn't be enough to make us think they are now capable of beating West Ham away from home. Villa still only have 1 away win all season, and that was back in August, so despite improved form, they still shouldn't be able to stop West Ham coming away with at least a point tonight.
