Our first selection (Tottenham) have been playing some really good football recently and are starting to dominate the vast majority of opponents now. They have the strongest defence in the Premier league with only 18 goals conceded in 22 games, and they have the 2nd lowest number of defeats in the league with just 3 in 22 games. Those factors make them a very difficult team to beat even if they aren't able to win the match, which is why this selection should be very safe as the draw is covered. Their opponents today (Crystal Palace) are on a poor run of form and confidence is clearly quite low. They are missing a few key players and are struggling for goals, losing their last 3 league games without scoring. This should be a game most would expect Tottenham to be able to come away with at least a point.
Our second selection (Benfica) are like two different teams depending on whether they are playing home or away. Both home or away they are a difficult team to beat, conceding 6 goals in 9 home games, and 6 goals in 9 away games. However in attack, that's where the differences are. With home advantage they have scored a very impressive 30 goals in 9 game, which is over 3 per game, and nearly twice as many as they have scored away from home, so they are far more dangerous going forward when they have home advantage and therefore far more likely to win their games. Today's opponents (Arouca) nicked an early goal and held on for the win earlier in the season, i don't see that happening today, Benfica will be just too strong at home.
