We're on a very good winning run of results for the doubles at the moment, not losing since last Wed 13th Jan. However today brings a fixture list full of unpredictable Cup games, so i'm just posting a suggestion today. If you're in any doubt, just wait for the next "Tipster's Double".

Our first selection (Aston Villa) were booed of the pitch after giving up a 1-0 lead to draw 1-1 away to Wycombe last time out, i'm pretty sure the players won't want that to happen again tonight. It was a game that Villa controlled for large periods and should really have been able to win, which is why i am backing them to win tonight with home advantage. Their performances have definitely picked up a bit in their last two games, getting a deserved win against Palace, and a respectable draw against Leicester. Their opponents (Wycombe) are doing well in League 2, however they have lost their last 2, and to play any Premiership team away from home will be a tough ask for them. I think Villa will have enough quality to come away winners tonight.
Our second selection (Benfica) are in very good form, winning their last 6 games in all competitions, and remembering how to score when playing away from home. They are last years Portugal Primeira Liga Champions and defending League Cup winners, and will be playing a side (Oriental Lisboa) today who are struggling in the Segunda Liga. With this being a League Cup match, every game is critical as only the top team in each group go through to the knock out stage, so it really is important that Benfica try to win each of their games. Therefore, with the difference in quality between these two sides, and the importance of winning the match, this should be a game that Benfica will be expected to win comfortably today.
