On paper both of these selections should be comfortable wins, however this being the early stages of the Cup means there is often resting of key players, so i still advise you all to wait for the team line ups before deciding whether to bet.
Assuming Arsenal put out a fairly decent side, this game should be straight forward. They are one of the top teams in the English Premier League, have won 6 of their last 7 games, and have already beaten todays opponents (Sunderland) 3-1 last month in a one sided match. Sunderland could well rest key players for this game as their focus will be staying in the Premier League, this could have a big effect on their performance due to having less squad depth than Arsenal. Combine that with recent form of 5 losses from their last 6 games, and this should be a home win.
Championship side Ipswich come into their game against League 2 Portsmouth having already named their starting XI. Mick McCarthy has already stated he will be resting 7 key players, only time will tell if that ends up being true, however they should still have enough quality not to lose to League 2 Portsmouth. Ipswich are in a decent run of form, with 1 narrow loss to Derby in the last 6 games. Portsmouth are also doing well in the league, however with changes likely for their team also, Ipswich should be too strong at home.
