Our first selection (Crotone) currently top the Italian Serie B and are unbeaten when playing at home. In their 9 home league games they have dropped only 2 points (1-1 draw with Bescia), scoring 23 goals and conceding only 4 in the process, so they are both defensively strong and pose a large attacking threat. Their opponents today (Trapani) are a mid table team who perform much better when playing at home, to be honest though, this is one of those leagues where the home teams always seem to have a big advantage. Away from home Trapani have 1 win, 4 draws, and 4 losses, and have only managed to score 4 times during those 9 away games, yet have conceded 14. On paper this is a game Crotone should win, however i have half covered the draw purely because this is Italian football and they are often known for doing just enough to win rather than making sure of the win.
Our second selection (Ternana) has the draw fully covered as they are not in the same class as Crotone from selection 1, however their opponents (Lanciano) are really struggling so i so expect them to be able to avoid defeat today. Ternana are near the bottom end of the table, however their form has picked up recently, winning 3 of their last 5, and winning their last 2 home games 4-0 and 2-0. They are playing Lanciano today who have the poorest away record in the league, with 0 wins, 2 draws, and 8 losses, scoring only 7 goals and conceding 19 in the process. On top of that they are really struggling for form, losing their last 4 games (home and away). This should be a safe selection barring upsets.
