A lot of todays fixtures are Cup games, which always gives the possibility of rotation so players will be fresh for the more important weekend league matches. Our first selection (Feyenoord) is the same as a standard "WIN" bet, however for some reason the odds were better if placed as an asian handicap, so that's what i've done. Feyenoord are one of the strongest teams in the Netherlands, they beat Ajax in the last round so are not taking this competition lightly. They beat todays opponents (Willem II) earlier this season, the score was only 1-0 but it was a dominant performance, with 22 attempts on goals compared to just 2 attempts for Willem II. Feyenoord are a class team in great form, and they should have the quality to progress to the next round.
Our second selection (Villarreal) lost the first leg of this Copa del Rey tie 3-2, so they have to win in order to progress to the next round. Their confidence will be high right now after beating Real Madrid at the weekend, and they will certainly feel they have enough quality to beat this Segunda Division side at home. In the first leg of this tie, Villarreal did have more chances on goal and more possession, however they just didn't do enough with their chances and possession. This time round however, the home advantage and the requirement for the win should make a big difference and it should be a constant barrage of attacks until they get the goals they need for the win. I can only see a home win in this game.
