I was tempted with Atl Madrid in the Champions league, but their weaker opponents (FC Astana) play on an artificial pitch which made me a little uncomfortable so have decided to stick to our domestic leagues today.
Our first selection (Middlesbrough) look to have found their form again, they've had a bit of a poor spell recently but their last two wins indicate they are back on track. They are a formidable team at home, with 5 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss, scoring 14 goals in the process and only conceding 2, which is the best defensive record at home in the league. Their opponents (Rotherham) have the worst defence in the league, letting in 27 goals in 14 games, so without home advantage, and having to play an in form team with one of the best attacking and defensive records, i just can't see Rotherham getting much joy tonight.
Our second selection (Coventry) are looking pretty strong this year, currently sitting in 4th place, and unbeaten at home in their first 7 home games (5 wins, 2 draws). Their attack has been strong at home, averaging 2 goals per game, whilst their defence has been equally strong, conceding less than 1 goal per game.
Their opponents (Barnsley) are in a shocking run of form having lost their last 6 league matches. They currently sit 3rd from bottom and have recorded just 1 win away from home all season. So with the draw covered in this selection, and the prospect of a home debut for the once England international Joe Cole, i would expect to see at least a draw for Coventry tonight.
