Wolves vs West Ham: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Tuesday 29th January 2019
Kick off at 7.45pm GMT
Venue: Molineux Stadium

Match Preview:

Wolves were involved in one of the most exciting games in the Premier League this season when they beat Leicester 4-3 in their last league game. It was a great 7 goal thriller but was also important for the club as it ended two games without a win and shot them into 8th place.

The club have picked up 7 points from their last 15 and at home they have won 3 from their last five. It is still disappointing from the club that they have a -4 goal difference record though.

West Ham would go above Wolves with a win but the club come into this game having been embarassed in their defeat to AFC Wimbledon in the FA Cup where they lost 4-2.

Their last away game was a listless display against Bournemouth in a 2-0 defeat and The Hammers have won just one game in their past four. During December Manuel Pellegrini’s side had picked up 3 away wins in a row but they have now lost their last two trips on the road in the league.

Team News:

Wolves: Willy Boly is suspended from the game after his sending off against Manchester City. He is the only concern for the club

West Ham: The Hammers have no new injuries but still have six regulars out with long term injuries including the likes of Jack Wilshire, Andriy Yarmolenko and Carlos Sanchez

Wolves vs West Ham Head to Head:

Earlier this season in the reverse fixture Wolves won 1-0.

The last time the teams played at Wolves was in 2010 where the match finished 1-1.

The last 4 meetings have ended in under 2.5 goals.

Wolves vs West Ham Prediction:

Wolves could well see much of the ball and have the quality to beat a West Ham side who are going through a cycle of negativity. It has been a repeating factor for Pellegrini’s side this season and they will most likely pick up and start winning games once more. But away to Wolves is a big ask after being humbled the way they were in the FA Cup. Wolves have a very good team and could stretch clear of The Hammers here and that will be their motivation together with the fans playing the 12th man.

Wolves vs West Ham Betting Tips:

Wolves to beat West Ham at 2.10

Under 2.5 goals at 1.91
