England Premier League

Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Molineux Stadium
Match Preview:
Wolves are in 19th place and have only won 3 games so far this season but recent form has been slightly encouraging as they have avoided defeat in 2 of their last three games. Following victory away to Everton the club lost against Manchester United but then drew against Aston Villa. Wolves also avoided defeat to Liverpool as they drew 2-2 in the FA Cup and were unlucky to have their 3rd winning goal ruled out by VAR.
So Wolves are not in a great position but at the same time a lot of clubs are bunched up and it only takes one win for most of them to find a clearer path and in Wolves case a path out of the bottom three, there is still plenty to play for. At home only 8 points have been won from a possible 27 but under new manager Julen Lopetegui the club will want to turn a page and so looking back at their stats isn’t always the wisest idea in that respect. Still it is 4 defeats in a row at home and that will have to be changed.
For West Ham little has changed since the restart following the World Cup but they did knock out Brentford to reach the fourth round. However in the league their winless streak continues. The Hammers are in 17th place and they have no wins in their last five games and have won just just one point in that time. That did come in their last game as they drew 2-2 with Leeds but at one point they were leading 2-1 and so the draw would have felt like a loss.
David Moyes much like Everton’s Frank Lampard is under real pressure to keep his job and the Londoners have only won once on the road so far scoring just six goals, but a win here could see them climb 4-5 places depending on other results.
Team News:
Wolves: Diego Costa is in the running to return after a slight knock. There are no new injury concerns for the club however Boubacar Traore, Pedro Neto, Sasa Kalajdzic and Chiquinho are all out long term.
West Ham: Kurt Zouma is still sidelined with a knee injury, Manuel Lanzini will be assessed after recovering from his groin strain. Gianluca Scamacca remains a doubt following a knee injury and is awaiting results from a recent scan. Maxwell Cornet looks likely to miss out with his calf and Vladimir Coufal will be assessed due to a knock.
Wolves vs West Ham Head to Head:
Last season Wolves won this fixture 1-0.
West Ham have won the last two meetings though they were both at home.
The last 3 meetings have all seen under 2.5 goals.
Wolves vs West Ham Prediction:
Player for player West Ham have the better players but we know about their struggles this season and time and again Moyes doesn’t seem or know how to get the best out of them. This is a game that really could go either way and it will be interesting to see how Wolves react. The team spirit in getting the draw against Liverpool which in their eyes should have been a win looked complete but it ended in disappointment. Will the players be able to turn that negative energy into a positive? They will be relegated if they do not sort out their home form and one has to question how many games they can lose in a row at home?
This is a game that this talented Hammers side should not be losing but at the same time we can’t see them getting the 3 points here, nothing of late suggests they will. We see a physical and equal game and the worry is that Moyes team are really going to struggle on the road this season even against teams they should be beating.
