England Premier League
Saturday 28th September 2019
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Molineux Stadium
Match Preview:
The bottom two clubs in the Premier League will go head to head on Saturday afternoon in a game that could be crucial to either teams confidence even at this early stage of the league season.
Incredibly Wolves are still chasing their first win of the season and come into this game in 19th place with just 4 points from a possible 18. The club who so impressed last season to qualify for the Europa League have been hung over somewhat and everyone is waiting for them to click and go on a run, it seems like it is a matter of when and not if.
Last weekend the club drew with Crystal Palace with that match ending 1-1 and they stopped a 2 game losing streak. At home Wolves have been average, with 2 draws and one loss, though that loss ended in a heavy 5-2 defeat against Chelsea.
Watford may have changed manager but the same misery continues for the club and they are bottom of the league. A decent 2-2 draw against Arsenal a couple of weeks ago was in fact a brilliant result given that they were 2-0 behind, but then Manchester City happened. Do Watford not like playing City. The FA Cup final ended 6-0 of course and last weekend it was an even worse result when City put 8 goals past them in an 8-0 win.
Team News:
Wolves: Wolves have had brilliant luck this season in terms of injuries and again have no new ones coming into this game
Watford: Isaac Success will be missing through a groin injury. Troy Deeny is out until at least November with a knee injury
Wolves vs Watford Head to Head:
Last season this fixture ended 2-0 to Watford.
Wolves have not beaten Watford at home since 2009 going back 3 games.
6 of the last 8 league meetings has seen both sides to score.
Wolves vs Watford Prediction:
The Hornets have just 2 points and there is a feeling even in September that the club could be going down. Losing to City isn’t the problem of course but it is the manner in how they went down, 5-0 at half time and not a hope of getting anything in the game, confidence must be shot with the club, and this looks like being a tough away match.
One would think that if Wolves are going to break their duck this season then it would likely come at home, and we are going to back them to win this game. Watford can change their manager but the effect looks like being little, and this is a big game for them. But if Wolves can dictate the pace of the game they should be able to ease to a win here.
Wolves vs Watford Betting Tips:
Wolves to beat Watford at 1.91
Correct Score: Wolves to win 2-1 or 3-1 at 8.00 and 15.00
