Wolves vs Watford: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 20th October 2018
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Molineux Stadium

Match Preview:

Wolves have got a lot of great press since the beginning of the season and what Nuno Espirto Santo has been doing with the club has been fantastic and he has already earned Premier League manager of the month after just two months in the Premier League.

The club are in 7th place and have won 4 of their last 5 games, losing just 1 game so far this season. They are the only club apart from Liverpool to have taken points from Manchester City and Santo will want to make Molineaux a fortress to play at. They are unbeaten at home so far with two wins and two draws, their last game finished in a hard fought 1-0 win away to Crystal Palace.

Watford started the season very strongly but have struggled in recent weeks and perhaps the international break ended up coming at the right time for the Hornets. They have dropped down to 9th place after losing back to back games against Arsenal and Bournemouth and their recent record doesn’t make for pretty viewing where they have gone the last four games without a win. On the road they haven’t won a match since the 2nd week of the league season and that was over 2 months ago.

Team News:

Wolves: No new major injuries to report ahead of this game

Watford: The Hornets have a few problems namely that Jose Holebas and Christian Kabasele will be missing as they will be serving one game suspensions for accumulating too many yellow cards and a sending off respectively. Marc Navarro is still out with a knock

Wolves vs Watford Head to Head:

The teams haven’t met since 2015 and that match here ended in a 2-2 draw.

Because of draws and lack of fixtures Wolves have not beaten Watford at home since 2009.

There is an 80% chance to see both teams to score.

Wolves vs Watford Prediction:

For this game we are putting a lot of faith in Wolves to get the victory that their play has earned over the last few months. Santo has built a good team, the club are in decent form and are unbeaten at home. Watford are in a bad period and will be missing key players, so anything other than a win for Wolves should be seen as a poor result. We think that Wolves can record a good victory in this game and keep moving up in the table.

Wolves vs Watford Betting Tips:

Wolves to beat Watford at 1.72

Wolves to score 2+ goals at 1.91
