Wolves vs Tottenham: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 15th December 2019
Kick off at 2pm GMT
Venue: Molineux Stadium

Match Preview:

Sunday afternoon’s Premier League game looks like a fascinating encounter between two teams that are playing good football.

Wolves are in 7th place with 24 points and come into this game one point above Tottenham. They are unbeaten in over a month and their last game ended in a 2-2 draw away to Brighton. However it’s all about the clubs home form and they have lost just once at home this season. The clubs problem is the draws where they have drawn 50% of their games at home.

Wolves last home game was a 2-0 win over West Ham. Victory at the weekend could take Wolves into 5th place and past Manchester United if United lose or draw against Everton.

Tottenham lost 3-1 in midweek in the Champions League against Bayern Munich. The only plus point was that the match was a dead rubber as both sides had qualified and from Tottenham’s point of view it was about testing out some players with the likes of Harry Kane rested.

Tottenham’s last league game was a brilliant 5-0 home win against Burnley and since Jose Mourinho took over the club have won 3 and lost 1. The club have only won once away this season, which was their recent match against West Ham. They have won just 6 points from a possible 24 on the road and on average are conceding 2 goals per game.

Team News:

Wolves: The club have no new injuries coming into this game

Tottenham: Tanguy Ndombele has been ruled out with a groin injury. It has been announced that Erik Lamela will be out for another two months with his hamstring injury

Wolves vs Tottenham Head to Head:

Last season this fixture ended 3-2 to Tottenham.

Wolves have not beaten Tottenham at home for the past 3 meetings and the last time they did so was in 2010.

The last 3 meetings has seen both teams to score.

Wolves vs Tottenham Prediction:

Tottenham have already improved under Mourinho, but at the same time there is a nagging feeling that they will struggle at times on the road. In all competitions the club has played 3 away games with Mourinho in charge and lost two of them. Wolves are no pushovers and this will not be an easy game for the club. Backing draws for 90 minutes can be risky business so we will back the draw at half time. We do expect goals for both sides. For all of Tottenham’s swagger lately they have conceded 7 goals in their 3 away matches so far and one would think that this Wolves team will be able to ask a lot of questions of the Tottenham back four.

At the same time there are goals in this side and we expect to see a very entertaining game that will be played at a high level and very fast pace.

Wolves vs Tottenham Betting Tips:

Draw at half time at 2.10

Both teams to score at 1.70

Anytime goalscorer: Raul Jimenez at 2.88
