Wolves vs Man City: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 25th August 2018
Kick off at 12.30pm BST
Venue: Molineux Stadium

Match Preview:

Premier League newcomers Wolves will take on the champions Manchester City in what promises to be a superb atmosphere at Molineux in this Saturday lunch time kick off.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s team were able to claim a point against 10 man Everton in their opening match but they were sent back to reality with a solid 2-0 loss away to Leicester last weekend. If they lose here which they will be expected to then all of a sudden it will be 3 games without a win and the objective here needs to be not to get crushed.

Crushed is the word we might have to start using more regulary when we talk about Manchester City’s opponents. This comes after their brilliant display at home last weekend in beating Huddersfield 6-1, which included a Sergio Aguero hat trick. The week before they were able to go to the Emirates and beat Arsenal 2-0 and Pep Guardiola’s men look like the odds on favourites right now to win back to back titles.

The only blemish and it’s quite a significant one is that Kevin De Bruyne is set to miss 3 months of the season with injury, but the depth of quality in Guardiola’s side is rich and we shouldn’t expect their season to be hampered by this news.

Wolves vs Man City Team News:

Wolves: Matt Doherty has a knock but will be assessed ahead of this game

Manchester City: Kevin De Bruyne could miss 3 months with a knee injury sustained in training.

Wolves vs Man City Head to Head:

The last time the teams met in the Premier League was in 2012 at this ground where Manchester City won 2-0.

Manchester City have won the last 5 competitive games against Wolves.

Wolves vs Man City Prediction:

For Wolves the slight hope will be a home crowd roaring them on and that they face a City side without De Bruyne. However they also face a City side which contains the likes of Aguero, Jesus, Bernardo Silva and Mahrez. City might have to dig deep for the performance but it is impossible to go against them and they should be able to get the goals to make it 3 wins out of three this season.

Wolves vs Man City Betting Tips:

Manchester City to win with a -1 goal handicap at 1.72

Anytime goalscorer: Sergio Aguero at 1.53
