England Premier League
Sunday 23rd October 2022
Kick off at 2pm BST
Venue: Molineux Stadium
Match Preview:
Wolves have lost 4 of their last 5 games and are in the relegation zone but a win here would take them out of it. It’s been a miserable period for the club and the sacking of Bruno Lage has not made anything better as of yet. Their last game finished in a 2-1 defeat against Crystal Palace and they have scored just 5 goals so far, that is the lowest amount by any Premier League side.
Despite their poor start to the season Wolves have only lost 1 game at home so far which is interesting given they are in 18th position. That loss was against Manchester City and so expected and they have won 2 of their last three games here with their latest victory coming against Nottingham Forest.
Leicester recorded a vital win over Leeds at home in midweek winning that game 2-0. It took an own goal to get the game going for the Foxes but they will take that and their recent form has unquestionably turned around as somewhat surprisingly the board stick with Brendan Rodgers. The Foxes are in 19th place and just one point behind their hosts but it’s just one loss in their last four games and 7 points earned. However the bad news is that the club have a 100% loss rate away from home, 5 played 5 lost and a staggering 19 goals conceded. Eight goals have been shipped in their last two games alone and their last away game ended in defeat against Bournemouth.
Team News:
Wolves: Toti is only 50/50 to make this game due to a muscle injury, Pedro Neto is out until the end of the year with his ankle. An update on Raul Jimenez has him returning in 3 weeks time due to his groin.
Leicester: Caglar Soyuncu remains out due to his knee with no return date. Jonny Evans is 50/50 after his calf injury but is more expected to miss out here and return next week. Ndidi should be back next week with his hamstring injury and Ricardo Pereira is out long term with his Achilles injury.

Wolves vs Leicester Prediction:
It’s 18th v 19th and history tells us we could not be in for an enthralling match. You have to ask yourself would both teams take a draw here and move on to the next game and while they will be professional and go for the win there does seem to be that lack of quality on the pitch to make this interesting. Of course we could be in for a surprise and witness a classic, but we doubt it. On one hand we have Wolves who can’t score goals and are missing their best forward in Raul Jimenez. But even if he was playing he simply hasn’t been the same player since his horrific head injury and that seems understandable given the circumstances. Wolves need a permanent manager too, the search has gone on too long.
Leicester have found some form so that is encouraging for them but their away form is awful, however surely at one point it will change? This game could well get bogged down in midfield and perhaps there is a pattern to follow here, as recent games apart from one have seen a lack of goals. Don’t expect a great game.
