Wolves vs Leicester: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 19th January 2019
Kick off at 12.30pm GMT
Venue: Molineux Stadium

Match Preview:

The Saturday lunchtime Premier League game will be fascinating given we have a clash of two teams with consistency problems. Both look spectacular one week and average the next.

Wolves will at least be at home where they have picked up almost 50% of their total points but they come into this game having lost back to back matches. Last Monday’s defeat at Manchester City was probably expected but they also lost to Crystal Palace before that. These defeats have been somewhat of a come down for the club who started 2019 by knocking Liverpool out of the FA Cup.

Still this remains an interesting game given that the home side could leapfrog Leicester and join the top 10 clubs in the process with a win.

The best Leicester and any team in their vicinity can hope for this season is 7th place as the gap to 6th has grown by 9 points. The Foxes are in 8th and it will be their objective to overtake Watford. They can also put some distance between themselves and Wolves by pulling off a win here.

Claude Puel’s team have been in erratic form, winning 3 of their last five games. However they were knocked out of the FA Cup by Newport County and also lost their last league game at home to Southampton in what was seen as a surprise result. Their recent away form is very good having won their last 2 games in a row with just one loss in their past six games.

Team News:

Wolves: Willy Boly is starting his 3 game ban after his red card v Manchester City and is out of this game. He is the only absentee at present for the club

Leicester: Jonny Evans is expected back after his toe injury and will be assessed. He has been training all week

Wolves vs Leicester Head to Head:

The two teams met last met in the Carabao Cup near the end of last year where the game finished 0-0.

In the reverse fixture earlier in the season Leicester won 2-0.

5 from the last 6 league meetings have seen both teams to score.

Wolves vs Leicester Prediction:

This could be a really close match. Neither team is on great form and we could see quite tight game as both sides haven't exactly been scoring goals for fun recently. That is why our main choice will be to not see both teams score - recent history is also in weight of this. We will also go for Leicester as they have come out on top in their last couple of recent meetings, however with the draw also covered.

Wolves vs Leicester Betting Tips:

Both teams to score (No) at 1.75

Asian handicap (+0.5 Leicester) at 1.625
