England Premier League
Sunday 4th October 2020
Kick off at 2pm BST
Venue: Molineux Stadium
Match Preview:
Playing Fulham at home could be the perfect tonic for Wolves who need to turn their season around in quick time.
Nuno Espirito Santos’ team have lost 2 consecutive games and fallen to 16th place after winning their opening match. A loss to Manchester City could have been expected but losing 4-0 at West Ham who were struggling before that game was not. It was the first time that Wolves had conceded a goal against the Hammers since coming back to the Premier League, and there would have been a sense of real disappointment in the fashion that the club lost. The defeat didn’t feel like a Wolves side managed by Santos.
Perhaps this is just a bad moment for the club though, in a months time we will know more.
Still there is usually a club worse off and that would be Wolves’ opponents on Sunday, Fulham. The Cottagers are bottom of the league having lost all 3 of their opening games. They have conceded 10 goals already, just to give you a measure of how poor that is if they were to continue in that form that would concede close to 130 goals this season.
Scott Parker’s side have played just one game away from home this season and that was against Leeds where they managed to score 3 goals but ultimately lost 4-3.
Team News:
Wolves: Daniel Podence will be assessed after his shoulder injury and is being tipped to be fine for this game. Marcal is 50/50 to return after his calf injury.
Fulham: Mario Lemina is out because of a knock, Harrison Reed has the same problem and is only 50/50 to make the match. Kenny Tete has a calf injury and won’t return until after the International break.
Wolves vs Fulham Head to Head:
The last time the clubs met here in 2019 Wolves won 1-0.
Fuham have just 1 win at Wolves in the last 15 years which came in 2015 in the FA Cup and even then that went to penalties.
In league matches there is a 70% chance to see under 2.5 goals.
Wolves vs Fulham Prediction:
Wolves aren’t scoring goals - just 3 so far but Fulham are shipping them in. On paper this game looks like a home win, but in theory it looks like ending up a draw.
Wolves have the better team but have also let some genuine quality leave, like Diogo Jota for example. Fulham’s last trip away showed some character and fight against Leeds and they remain a difficult team to predict even if overall they have been poor.
But Wolves are priced up at 1.50, that seems almost like a joke when we see their perfomances and the fact they are not scoring goals. True Fulham could be the perfect opponent as mentioned at the beginning of this article, but there doesn’t seem much value in such a price for a team who have not started well.
Backing the -1 asian handicap seems like the better choice as it ups the odds to 1.94 with no extra risk.
Wolves vs Fulham Betting Tips:
Asian handicap (-1 Wolves) at 1.94
Highest Scoring Half: 2nd half at 2.10
