Wolves vs Everton: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 11th August 2018
Kick off at 5:30pm BST
Venue: Molineux Stadium

Match Preview:

Wolves are back in the Premier League for the first time in 6 years and they will host Everton in this early evening Saturday clash.

Molineux is sure to be full for the first game of the season and we should see an end to end match. The home side spent much of their pre season in Switzerland and Germany and had a solid experience with just one loss in their matches including a decent 0-0 result against Real Betis.

Transfer wise the club have brought in experienced quality in Joao Moutinho from Monaco and Diogo Jota who was already on loan with the club. Benik Afobe comes from Bournemouth too, so it’s been a very busy time for them.

It’s been all change at Everton with Sam Allardyce’s exit and the arrival of Marco Silva’s arrival from Watford. Silva has not messed around and brought in a player he knows well in Richarlison for £40m. Barcelona’s Lucas Digne has also been signed and Joao Virginia comes from Arsenal, as well as numerous quality deadline day arrivals.

With the departure of Wayne Rooney to the MLS this is the second consecutive season that the Toffeemen have sold their leading striker and not replaced him.

Pre season didn’t go well despite starting it off by beating ATV Irdning 22-0 to set a club record. But the club then went on a win less streak of 6 games shipping 10 goals in losses to Blackburn Rovers, Rennes and Valencia.

Wolves vs Everton Prediction:

Wolves being at home and this being the first game of the season will have their chances, but there is a project being built at Everton and with the quality of players they have they should be able to come here and get something. Everton will play a direct and attacking game and whilst in defence they could be shaky they will have enough in midfield and attack to be able to score goals.
