Wolves vs Cardiff: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 2nd March 2019
Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Molineux Stadium

Match Preview:

Here are two teams that need a pick me up. First Wolves who lost in the final seconds against bottom club Huddersfield in midweek and then Cardiff who are in danger of being relegated after losing 3-0 to Everton.

For Wolves this game is a vital one to win as the club have really stopped in their tracks since claiming 7th place. They have gone their last 3 games without a win, and are only in 7th place now on goal difference. This is a position that could well turn into a Europa league spot come the seasons end.

The good news for them is that they have gone their last 3 games at home undefeated, their last match here finished 1-1 against Newcastle.

Cardiff are 15 points behind their opponents and are currently going to be relegated with 25 points. They are 2 points from safety, and Neil Warnock’s side are relying on the form of Brighton and Southampton and hoping that those teams continue to drop points otherwise there will be danger signs for the Welsh club.

Cardiff have conceded 8 goals in their last 2 games which is a damning account, although they did win their last away game, which was a 2-1 victory over Southampton. Can Warnock get his team playng again like a few weeks ago?

Team News:

Wolves: No new injuries for the team coming into this game

Cardiff: The only dount is Joe Ralls who has a pelvic injury who looks set to miss this game

Wolves vs Cardiff Head to Head:

Earlier this season in the reverse game Cardiff won 2-1.

The last time the teams played at Wolves, Cardiff also won 2-1.

5 of the last 6 meetings has seen both teams to score.

Wolves vs Cardiff Prediction:

Our tip here is to see a home victory. Wolves were heading for a disappointing draw against Huddersfield before losing in the last seconds, but this shock result happened away. At home the club remains solid and difficult to beat and they are a stronger side than Cardiff. As for Cardiff conceding 8 goals in their last two games is shattering and these were not against top 6 sides but Everton and Watford who have both themselves struggled at times this season. Wolves can work on Cardiff’s leaky defence and we expect a good win for the home side.

Wolves vs Cardiff Betting Tips:

Anytime goalscorer: Raul Jimenez at 2.10
