England Premier League

Kick off at 7:30pm GMT
Venue: Molineux Stadium
Match Preview:
Wolves lost their third match in four games at the weekend as they were defeated 2-1 by Arsenal. Playing Arsenal away from home always felt like an expected defeat but the club did show character to fight back. Wolves had found themselves 2-0 down before the quarter of an hour mark and the game looked like finishing in a cricket score so it was credit to Wolves who pulled a goal back in the end and in the second half produced more shots on target than Arsenal.
However, of course Wolves still lost the game and they come into this midweek batch of games in 13th place with 15 points. At home the club have played six games so far with a record of 2-2-2 but the good news is that they haven’t lost here since the middle of September when they were defeated by Liverpool- so it has been 4 games undefeated. It becomes more impressive when we look into those four games, all incredibly difficult ones which have included wins over Manchester City and Tottenham and draws against Aston Villa and Newcastle. Wolves are not setting the Premier League alight but they have put in some wonderful displays at home.
Burnley finally won at home and they served up their fans with a treat as they destroyed Sheffield United in a 5-0 romp at the weekend. Goals were aplenty which hasn’t been the case up until now, the Clarets had managed just 10 goals in their previous 13 games so even though this was against poor opposition it still felt like a surprise. For now this confirms that Sheffield United are the poorest side in the league and while Burnley are in 19th place they have 7 points and are just two from safety. The win was excellent but recent form is still poor with four defeats from their last five games and away from home they have lost their last three.
Team News:
Wolves: Rayan Ait-Nouri could be assessed following his ankle injury but remains a doubt. Nathan Fraser is 50/50 due to a muscle injury, Jose Sa has a back injury although it is minor so he has a chance to play in this game. Pedro Neto will be assessed for his hamstring and Joseph Hodge won’t return until next month due to a shoulder injury.
Burnley: Jordan Beyer is suspended for this game after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season. Lyle Foster and Arijanet Muric remain doubts to return in midweek due to illness. Benson Manuel will be assessed, he has recovered from injury but has a lack of match fitness. Jack Cork has a knock and remains a major doubt given that there have been no updates on his condition.

It’s been four games since Wolves have beaten Burnley at home.
Wolves vs Burnley Prediction:
Wolves are well on track to be safe this season but they could become one of the teams in mid to low table who could get into trouble and they will need to find some early season consistency again. The good news is home form and that is what will keep them up in the end and they have proven that they can take points from any club in the league when at home and that is a major plus factor for them. Recent history has seen the club struggle at home to Burnley but some of those games have been draws and a lot can change in the two years where the clubs haven’t played here.
Burnley will be in good spirits coming here and if they can score 5 goals in one game it will make the players think that perhaps the good times are ahead. However their victory was against an even poorer side than them and we think this will be a difficult fixture for Vincent Kompany’s side and will be backing the home win.
Wolves vs Burnley Betting Tips:
