Wolves vs Brighton: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 30th April 2022
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Molineux Stadium

Match Preview:

Wolves can still finish in a European place and come into this game in 8th place and the club have a very good chance of upsetting some of the bigger teams and taking a prime position. Currently Bruno Lage’s side are 3 points behind West Ham and six points behind Manchester United but they have a game in hand over the Hammers and two in hand over United- there really is all to play for.

However there are problems at Wolves and the club have lost 3 of their last four games including their last two with defeats against Burnley and Newcastle. Last month they also lost to Leeds and what has been noticeable is all of those defeats came against teams below them. Lage will be hoping that the clubs form can drastically turn around or their season will be threatened by being underwhelming after such a solid season so far.

Brighton are in 11th place and are 8 points behind their hosts, last weekend they drew 2-2 with Southampton but that would have felt like a loss given they were leading the game and looked well on the way to getting all 3 points. The good news for the Seagulls is that even though they are playing for very little their form is good with just one defeat from their last five games. Away games have actually been more beneficial for Graham Potter’s side although recently they have lost 3 of their last five games. Their last away game ended in a 3-0 defeat at Manchester City which was expected however they went in at half time in that game with the score at 0-0. Seven of Brighton’s away games have ended in a draw.

Team News:

Wolves: Max Kilman has a knock with no specified return date, Daniel Podence has the same issue so both could miss out here. Ruben Neves is a major doubt to miss out due to a lack of match fitness but could be back next week.

Brighton: Tariq Lamptey is being pencilled in to play in his game after recovering from a knee injury. Jeremy Sarmiento is out for at least 3 weeks with a hamstring injury.

Wolves vs Brighton Head to Head:

It’s been 7 games since Brighton beat Wolves.

Last season Wolves beat Brighton in this fixture 2-1.

There is a 70% chance to see under 2.5 goals.

Four of the last six meetings has seen the results end in draws.

Wolves vs Brighton Prediction:

We will back Wolves to get the win in front of their own fans but with the draw covered on the refund. Wolves are a good and dangerous side who have had some poor form but that should turn around and this is a big game for the club, they can make a real splash and finishing in a European place would be a huge achievement for them especially as this is Lage’s first season with the club.

Wolves have to play Chelsea and Manchester City next and their final game of the season is against Liverpool, they could well lose all of those games and a European place at the same time. This is why this game is magnified and means so much to the club. They are good value to win this one and it should be taken on.

We’re going to back Romain Saiss to score in the game he has a good record of scoring against Brighton and again is very good value to score anytime.

Wolves vs Brighton Betting Tips:

Anytime goalscorer: Romain Saiss at 10.00

Correct Score: Wolves to win 1-0 or 2-0 at 7.00 and 12.00
