Wolves vs Brighton: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 5th November 2022
Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Molineux Stadium

Match Preview:

Wolves still do not have a permanent manager and they come into this game in 19th place with 10 points. Last weekend they drew 1-1 away to Brentford and that at least stopped a two game losing run. The huge worry for the club has been their lack of goals with just six scored so far it is the lowest in the league and even Nottingham Forest who are bottom and have also struggled this season have scored two more.

It’s just one win for Wolves from five games played and at home they have won 2 lost 2 and drawn 2. Fans have seen just 3 goals scored and in their last home game they were smashed 4-0 by Leicester. However they have earned 8 of their 10 points at home and the hope will be to get something here, but it does look like desperate times for them.

Brighton were superb last weekend as new manager Roberto De Zerbi won his first game in charge after a brilliant 4-1 victory over Chelsea. Chelsea had not lost a game under Graham Potter and the former Brighton manager was under the kosh so to speak and Brighton would have been very determined to beat his side. Brighton have played good football under De Zerbi despite him having to wait for his first win but they have also had some difficult fixtures already having to play Manchester City and Liverpool away. The Seagulls are in a good position in 8th place and would go past Chelsea with victory here so there is a lot riding on this game.

Team News:

Wolves: Diego Costa is suspended for 3 games after his red card last weekend. Matheus Nunes is a doubt with a shoulder injury, Raul Jimenez is out with a groin injury and not expected back until next week. Pedro Neto won’t return until after the World Cup.

Brighton: Joel Veltman could return from his calf injury and will be assessed, he is the only injury worry for the Seagulls.

Wolves vs Brighton Head to Head:

Last season Brighton won this fixture 3-0 it was their first victory over Wolves in 4 years.

There is a 60% chance to see under 2.5 goals.

There have been 4 draws in the last seven meetings.

Wolves vs Brighton Prediction:

Wolves look shot and we don’t see them getting anything here. In the past Brighton have suffered in this away game but they ended that last season and it looks set to continue for this game also. There is a lot of positives to be taken for Brighton, and they look on the up and whilst away games will be more difficult they have the confidence and they are facing a team very low on it now. We believe we will see a good performance from the away team and they can ease to a good victory here.

As for Wolves there is a major worry goals wise and Diego Costa has really let the team down by getting sent off and he now won’t play a game for them until the end of the year due to the World Cup break. Costa was brought in to make the difference up front so getting sent off is the worst possible scenario for Wolves who face the reality of a relegation battle now. These are desperate times for Wolves and Brighton are really good value to win this one and could well be the pick of the weekend.
