England Premier League
Friday 17th July 2020
Kick off at 8pm BST
Venue: London Stadium
Match Preview:
These two teams are looking increasingly likely to be safe, and that could be the problem for this showdown in east London. A draw would see both teams go 4 points clear of the relegation zone with just 2 games left to play, something both teams would probably happily settle for.
West Ham aren’t blowing many bubbles but they are blowing hot and cold, a team that can beat Chelsea at home then lose to Burnley and it is evident that a lot of change is needed at the club if they won’t be suffering relegation threats next season.
The Hammers form is that of a mid table team, and it's likely they will be safe this season. They have won just 5 games at home and even though they have scored 26 goals which isn’t bad for their position, they are conceding too easily and have shipped 31 at home. Recent home form has seen the club win 1 of their past 3 matches.
Watford may survive but it is only because Bournemouth and Aston Villa have just been that bit poorer than them. Otherwise the club have looked like relegation material for some time. What is interesting is that the small gap the Hornets do have was achieved when they became the first team this season to beat Liverpool, take that shock win away and they would be right down there.
Team News:
West Ham: Felipe Anderson and Robert Snodgrass are both doubtful for this game.
Watford: Troy Deeney is a doubt due to a knee injury.
West Ham vs Watford Head to Head:

West Ham vs Watford Prediction:
West Ham can win this game but remain very unpredictable not just against Watford but in the league as a whole. On the surface the Hammers look very exciting but get to the core and they are very unstable, always at the edge.
Watford’s away form has been poor with 11 defeats this season and their recent form is also poor having lost 4 games in a row, they have however earned 6 points from their last 15 thanks to their last two home performances. On the road they have also failed to score a goal in any of their last four games and have conceded 8 goals in that time.
As stated earlier though, it could well be that both teams will be happy with a point, and predicting team motivation is a necessary tool when predicting match outcomes. Neither team as a result will likely commit too many men forward, and the game could end up as a 0-0 draw.
