England Premier League
Saturday 26th October 2019
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Olympic Stadium
Match Preview:
It may not seem like it but West Ham’s form has not been good and they come into this game needing a pick me up after winning just one match in their past five.
The Hammers have lost back to back games, at home to Crystal Palace and then last weekend away to Everton and have shipped 4 goals in those games. The club who were in the top 4 just a few weeks ago have now slipped to 11th place, however a win could put them back in the top 7 at least.
At home they have won 2 and lost 2, and probably their root cause is not scoring enough goals. New signing Sebastian Haller has a couple but should have more by now and has gone fairly quiet and Pablo Fornals, highly touted before the season has been nothing short of poor.
Sheffield United beat Arsenal last Monday night by 1-0 and that was obviously a massive result for the Blades. Form is decent in that they have lost 1 game in their last four but they keep failing to win consecutive games. The club are in 9th place and have the same points (12) as West Ham. Away form has been good as they are still unbeaten although from their 4 games they have won 1 and drawn 3.
Team News:
West Ham: Aaron Cresswell should be fine to return after a knock, he is the only doubt for the club apart from their long term injuries
Sheffield United: The Blades have no new injuries coming into this game
West Ham vs Sheffield United Head to Head:
The last time the teams played each other in London was in 2014 in the league cup when Sheffield United won on penalties.
In the league we have to go back to 2006 when West Ham won 1-0.
In the last 6 competitive meetings West Ham have just 1 win.
West Ham vs Sheffield United Prediction:
West Ham are very unpredictable they have been on a poor run and so one could reasonably think they will beat Sheffield United being at home, but the Hammers have never been that easy to predict. It is why we will drop a winner for this game and instead concentrate on the goals market. Both teams to score should happen as take out the Manchester City slaughter and West Ham have scored in each of their home games and United have a good goals record away from home scoring 2 at Chelsea was a real highlight.
We will also pick one player from each team to score. Haller for the home side is due a goal now, and surely after recent disappointments West Ham will hit back and create numerous chances up front.
West Ham vs Sheffield United Betting Tips:
Both teams to score at 1.72
Anytime goalscorer: Sebastian Haller at 2.50
Anytime goalscorer: David McGoldrick at 3.75
