England Premier League
Sunday 9th October 2022
Kick off at 2pm BST
Venue: London Stadium
Match Preview:
It’s been a difficult start to the season for West Ham but they have won their last two games in all competitions and one would think now being at home again that they can come into this one with the crowd behind them with a spring in their step.
The Hammers have struggled so far in the Premier League but got a huge morale boosting win over Wolves last weekend and they followed that up by beating Anderlecht in the Europa Conference League, and in Europe they now have 9 points from 9 and there are no problems in that competition. But in the Premier League there have been problems although back to back wins if they beat Fulham would put that to bed for now. Currently David Moyes side are in 15th place although just one point from the bottom three but a win here could see the Londoners move up 2-3 places. At home it’s just one win so far (the Wolves game) but they have gone their last two undefeated here and so maybe this is the start of some solid form.
Fulham have been brilliant for their standards so far and are in 8th place with 11 points. Many expect the newly promoted side to start dropping down the table and that probably will happen but their game plan has to be to delay that for as long as possible. The Cottagers did take a smashing last weekend as they lost 4-1 at home to Newcastle and they have a current pattern of winning one and losing one so already their consistency is suffering. Four points from the 11 they have have been earned away from home and their last match finished in a 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest which to date is their only win on the road.

Fulham have not beaten West Ham away since 2001.
3 of the last four meetings have seen under 2.5 goals.
West Ham vs Fulham Prediction:
The Hammers have a good record at home to Fulham, have a good recent record and have just tasted victory two times in a row. Despite having to travel in midweek they should be ready for this game and this could well be a home banker for this weekend. Fulham were not an easy team to face in the first few weeks of the new campaign but it is questionable now if that is still the same case. On top of this is the possibly that Mitrovic could be missing and he has started the season well scoring goals and would be a big miss for the visitors.
For the home side new signing Gianluca Scamacca is scoring goals now and he seems to be a good signing for the club going forward and he will be relishing playing in front of the home fans once again. So we see a routine but hard fought win here for the Hammers and back the Italian to score again.
