West Ham vs Crystal Palace: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 5th October 2019
Kick off at 5:30pm BST
Venue: Olympic Stadium

Match Preview:

The Hammers started poorly but have slowly become one of the surprise teams in the early weeks of the Premier League.

They are in 5th place and unbeaten since the opening weekend of the league. Their last match ended in a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth which was seen as a respectable result because Eddie Howe’s team have been in good form and West Ham were losing that game.

The Hammer’s last home game ended in a 2-0 victory over Manchester United which would have been a superb injection of confidence and at home once you take out the nightmare defeat by Manchester City they are doing well, having scored 4 goals in their other two games and shipped none.

Manuel Pellegrini can call on more players compared to last season where so many were out injured for a long time and a win here could see the London team climb into the top 4.

Crystal Palace have also started well and have 11 points and would pass West Ham with a win here. They beat Norwich last weekend and are currently on a 2 game unbeaten run. They have collected 10 points from their last 15 and have been impressive for a team that were amongst the favourites to struggle this season at the beginning of the season.

Team News:

West Ham: Big injury news for the Hammers in the form of Lukasz Fabianski who has a hip injury and has been ruled out for the rest of 2019. He is the only new injury concern for the club

Crystal Palace: Mamadou Sakho is back after the international break with an ongoing muscle injury. Connor Wickham is out with fitness issues and Luka Milivojevic has a 1 game ban and misses this match

West Ham vs Crystal Palace Head to Head:

Last season West Ham won this fixture 3-2.

Home or away it has been 9 games since Palace last beat West Ham.

The last 4 meetings has seen both teams to score.

West Ham vs Crystal Palace Prediction:

West Ham could be one of those teams that will be hard to beat at home this season- think of the likes of Bolton and Stoke in the past. They have a quality manager in Pellegrini and he needed that first season to fit into the club and get his tactics and philopshy drilled into them, it may just be paying dividends now. We will back them to win this match which would be a solid result. Keep an eye on Andriy Yarmolenko who looks like he is on fire right now for the home side and we will be backing him to get another goal at the weekend.

West Ham vs Crystal Palace Betting Tips:
