England Premier League

Kick off at 2pm GMT
Venue: The Hawthorns
Match Preview:
It looks increasingly like Sam Allardyce’s record of keeping teams up is about to be tested to the limit. West Bromwich Albion come into this game in 19th place, 11 points adrift of safety, and their fate looks sealed. In fact the real battle for the club is not to finish bottom as Sheffield United are only one point behind the Baggies.
West Brom simply haven’t been good enough and their 2-0 loss at Tottenham confirmed that given that the London side are going through poor form. Before that it was a loss against Sheffield United even though West Brom had taken the lead in that game. Now the club have to face another united in the form of the Manchester variety and that could leave a bitter taste in their mouths.
The Baggies have earned just 1 point from their last 15 and at home they have the worst record in the league earning just six points from a possible 33 with one victory.
Manchester United could be the only club to stop their rivals Manchester City from winning the league but even that is looking distant. United are 5 points behind but have also played a game more but the objective really for the Red Devils will be to finish 2nd and try to make a statement that they are getting back to their best.
Points have been dropped though and the club have drawn 2 of their last 3 games against Arsenal and Everton with a win in the middle, and what a win that was beating Southampton 9-0. United have the best away record earning 27 points from a possible 33 and incredibly they are still unbeaten on the road and have won 8 from their 11 games, but draws are creeping up on the club.
If Liverpool have beaten Leicester this could be a great opportunity for United to create a gap between 2nd and 3rd and if Liverpool have done the deed there is a chance United could go 5 points clear of both of them with victory here. They will of course be the odds on favourites to win this.
Manchester United did play in midweek in the FA Cup and it was a dire game of football at home against West Ham but United got through it and won 1-0 with an extra time goal and are now in the quarter finals and that will give the club a boost heading into this fixture.
Team News:
West Bromwich Albion: Grady Diangana has recovered from injury but has some fitness issues and looks set to miss this game. He is the only concern for the Baggies.
Manchester United: Paul Pogba is out for at least another week with a thigh injury. Marcos Rojo finally recovered from injury and then joined Boca Juniors.
West Brom vs Man Utd Head to Head:
The teams last met here in 2017 when Manchester United won 2-1.
Earlier in the season in the reverse fixture Manchester United won 1-0.
7 of the last 8 meetings has been under 2.5 goals.
From the last 9 times West Brom have been at home against Manchester United the home side have only won once.
West Brom vs Man Utd Prediction:
Manchester United should win but then again we are talking about a season where Sheffield United, who have performed even worse than West Brom can go to Old Trafford and win, and this was a game where Manchester United needed to win, just like at the weekend.
United are around 1.30 to win but what has been interesting is how close the games have been in recent years. The set up at West Brom will be pretty much the same and that is to defend and try and keep the score at 0-0 for as long as they can, concede early and all of West Brom’s plans fall apart.
The gap in quality is obvious though and since United have been superb away from home we will go with the away victory but we will have to look into different markets if we want good value.
West Brom vs Man Utd Betting Tips:
Manchester United to beat West Bromwich Albion with a -1 goal start at 1.80
