Watford vs Sheffield Utd: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 5th October 2019
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Vicarage Road

Match Preview:

It’s been a nightmare start for Watford, last season’s FA Cup finalists as they come into this game bottom of the league and without a win. Javi Gracia has been sacked and Mr. Flores has returned to the club, since he has the Hornets have lost 2, drawn 1 and conceded 12 goals! Yikes! They will take on Sheffield United at home, and whilst on paper this could be the match to get them back on track, the Blades have played some good football this term and there are no guarantees that three points will be heading Watford’s way.

The club come into this game after back to back losses with their latest match being a defeat against Wolves by 2-0. They are clearly, at this time, the worst club in the league having scored just 4 goals and conceded 20.

At home they have lost twice and drawn once, but the real worry is that they are conceding too many goals, almost 3 a game at home.

Sheffield United are 12th with 8 points, already six more than their hosts. Form has not been good with 1 win in their last five games but they have still played some aggressive, attacking, and encouraging football which suggests they could be one of the newly promoted clubs who will stay up.

Their last match was a 1-0 loss to Liverpool and they had genuine chances to end that game with a draw. Away from home they are a surprise with no losses so far, beating Everton and drawing against Bournemouth and Chelsea. Right now the club are doing just fine.

Team News:

Watford: Isaac Success is still out with a groin injury and Troy Deeny is not due back until next month

Sheffield United: David McGoldrick has a groin injury and will miss this game, he is the only injury worry for the Blades ahead of this match

Watford vs Sheffield Utd Prediction:

Watford look doomed and lacking a lot of confidence, and Sheffield United have shown a lot of promise even if their form is off, and that is why we are going to back the away side to leave with something. This is a team that nearly beat Chelsea and nearly drew with Liverpool and they should have enough to get something from their visit to Vicarage Road. Billy Sharp is back for United and we will back him to get on the front foot and lead his team with a goal, although check the team news ahead of the game. Watford look set to face a tough game.
