England Premier League

Kick off at 7:30pm GMT
Venue: Vicarage Road
Match Preview:
If anything Claudio Ranieri at Watford means that we won’t see many dull moments from the club this season. It seems that they are either scoring 4 goals or conceding them, perfect for the neutral but a roller coaster ride for the fans. This past weekend seen the club lose 4-2 at Leicester and they come into this game in 16th place.
There is a lot to praise about Watford under Ranieri- they certainly do not short change the fans however form doesn’t lie and even though they recently beat Manchester United 4-1 the Hornets have lost 3 of their last four games.
At home Watford have lost 50% of their matches and are conceding on average 2 goals per game, but did of course win their last match here with that staggering 4-1 win over Manchester United which ended up costing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer his job,
Chelsea come into this game as the Premier League leaders and will of course be the favourites to win this match. At the weekend Chelsea drew 1-1 at home against Manchester United which given both teams form was an underwhelming result for the Blues, though they had been trailing in that duel. The draw though means that their points advantage over 2nd placed Manchester City has been reduced to just 1 point.
As good as Chelsea have been this season they have still dropped 4 points at home from their last two games and one has to wonder if that will be telling by the end of the season? Away from home Chelsea have the best record in the league with 5 wins from six games and they are the only club to remain undefeated on the road. Thomas Tuchel’s side come into this game with a staggering record winning their last 4 trips on the road and have only conceded 1 goal so far.
Team News:
Watford: Kwado Baah misses out with an ankle injury, Ben Foster has a groin problem and is very unlikely to feature. Ismailia Sarr is out with a knee injury.
Chelsea: N’Golo Kante will be assessed but is only 50/50 to make this game after his recent but mild knee injury. Mateo Kovacic is out with his hamstring. Ben Chilwell is a long term injury with his knee and isn’t expected back until the new year.
Watford vs Chelsea Head to Head:
The last time the clubs played here back in 2019 Chelsea won 2-1.
Chelsea have won the last 4 meetings in a row and have won 13 of the last 16 encounters.
Watford beat Chelsea 4-1 in 2018 but that is the only victory for the Hornets over the Blues since 1999.
There is a 90% chance to see over 2.5 goals.
Watford vs Chelsea Prediction:
What Chelsea side will we see because we know they have the quality to put a few goals past this Watford team. Or it could go the way of winning by one goal. With the way Chelsea have been playing and their fantastic record over Watford we don’t expect to see surprises but the home side should get some chances to test the Chelsea defence, of course this is a back four that rarely concede….
One choice we will be backing is to see 3 goals or more which is a decent return as for backing the Blues they are around 1.30 which offers little value but it might be worth backing them to be winning at half time which significantly brings the price back into our favour and also in their last two meetings Chelsea were winning by this method.
Romelu Lukaku who has had an uneven and frustrating season so far - mostly to do with injury should be backed to get a goal anytime, it is only a matter of time before the excellent Belgian striker gets back on the score sheet and he is looking more and more fitter now.
Watford vs Chelsea Betting Tips:
Half Time: Chelsea to be winning at 1.80
Over 2.5 goals at 1.70
Anytime goalscorer: Romelu Lukaku at 2.05
