Tottenham vs Wolves: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 13th February 2022
Kick off at 2pm GMT
Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Match Preview:

Apart from losing against Chelsea, Tottenham had not lost a league game since Antonio Conte was appointed manager back in November. Then came Southampton. Tottenham will feel they threw 3 points away in their last game as they were leading 2-1 with eleven minutes to go, a Spurs victory looked assured, but this is Premier League football.

Now Tottenham must remain calm because their games in hand advantage could be no advantage soon and their top 4 hopes could be dashed. For now finishing 4th still looks good but the reality has seen the club lose their last 2 games. For this match they will be favourites to win their 12th game of the season. Tottenham are in 7th place but have 3 games in hand over West Ham with a 4 point gap. Of course Tottenham also have Manchester United and Arsenal in their way so nothing is assured at this time and Conte will understand that he needs a team who will be consistant.

Wolves were upset at home to Tottenham’s nemesis Arsenal in midweek and that ended a good run of form for the club who had crept into the top 10 well enough to be seeking out a European finish. Wolves are in 8th place and would go above Tottenham by a point with victory here although they have played a game more. What has been impressive is Wolves recent away form which has seen the club win their last 3 in a row and that includes victories against some tough opponents in the form of Manchester United and Brighton.

Team News:

Tottenham: Eric Dier has a thigh injury and looks more likely to come back next weekend. Olivier Skipp could be assessed but is only 50/50 to return from his groin injury. Japhet Tanganga has a knee injury and there has been no specified time given to his return as of yet.

Wolves: Willy Boly has a lack of match fitness and remains a doubt for this game. Hwang Hee-Chan could be assessed after a slight back injury. Yerson Mosquera has recovered from injury but has a lack of match fitness and could miss the next 10 days. Joao Moutinho is only 50/50 to make this match as he has a calf injury. Pedro Neto has recovered from injury but has a lack of match fitness and isn’t due back until the end of the month at the earliest.

Tottenham vs Wolves Head to Head:

Tottenham vs Wolves Prediction:

Wolves have done really well but you get the feeling that they are a level below Tottenham and that their fantastic recent away record will not last. They played some good football against Arsenal but came up against a brick wall at times. After Tottenham have lost their last two games we don’t expect to see another defeat so soon after and not at home against Wolves.

Sometimes defeats in the manner the club faced against Southampton can be like a jolt and we expect Tottenham to be back on it. They have a manager in Conte who will be telling his players that this game is for the fans and to make up for the defeat against the Saints.

Wolves will have their chances but we feel Tottenham are a very good price to win this game and will be backing the home side to take all 3 points and put the pressure back on 4th placed West Ham.
