The Jose Mourinho plan is not working to script at the moment for Tottenham. Fans might be able to forgive dropping some points away from home even to teams in the lower half of the table. Or losing to Chelsea and Liverpool who are clearly better sides. But anything the fans are holding back will come to light if Tottenham lose against the bottom side in the league at home on Wednesday night.

Only a matter of weeks ago Spurs struggled away from home against Norwich in a game that ended 2-2 so Mourinho will know only too well that this match is not a given three points.

Tottenham’s focus this season is only on 4^th place and that final Champions League finish. Norwich are bottom but are showing some fight, so credit to them and last weekend they beat Bournemouth 1-0. It was a big game for them as Bournemouth could have been out of sight had they won even though they are in 19^th place. Norwich now have 17 points and are 6 points from safety.

Here’s the bad news, which is Norwich have the poorest away record in the league where they have won just 1 game on their travels. That is 8 losses in 11 and they have scored just 5 goals all season away from home. They have earned 1 point from their last 4 away games.

Though Mourinho’s side have some injuries they still possess a lot of quality and it will be interesting to see if they can be motivated to get a good result here. A 1-0 win is three points but it doesn’t bode well for the future and this is a game where Spurs need to get a convincing result. True Norwich are fighting for survival but Tottenham are fighting for a top 4 place, it is games like this, especially at home if we know if the dream is just that or a reality to achieve a better position.
