Match Preview:

This massive high profile game could, in the end, be ruined somewhat by the fact that it is taking place at Wembley Stadium, as Tottenham wait for their new ground to be ready. The problem is that there will be an NFL game played just a day before the game, and the pitch could get cut up quite badly. It won’t be in great shape for the players that is a given.

This game was also originally scheduled for Sunday but had to be changed to Monday evening so bad news for City fans that had planned to come, still their away support should still make their presence felt.

Onto proceedings on the field and in the league at least Tottenham are doing well and getting the job done. They are in 5^th place just two points shy of City at the top and have won 4 games in a row. At ‘home’ they have they have won 2 and lost 1, which came against Premier League rivals Liverpool.

Tottenham were dealt a blow in midweek when they could only draw 2-2 away to PSV in the Champions League which means they are almost out of the competition at the group stages which would be quite an embarrassment for the club.

Manchester City are top of the league but Pep Guardiola won’t be entirely happy given that this is only on goal difference from Liverpool. City also have Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal in hot pursuit. A win here would obviously be massive for the club and they will start as the odds on favourites to do so.

City are unbeaten away this season with 2 wins and 2 draws and are of course unbeaten home or away in the league. They drew their last game 0-0 at Liverpool but before that smashed Cardiff 5-0 with brilliant fluid football. Guardiola has great memories of Wembley Stadium, winning the Champions League here with Barcelona in 2011 and City will enjoy playing on the wider pitch.

Tottenham: Dele Alli should be fit for a major return in this game after match fitness issues. Danny Rose remains 50/50 for the game after his groin injury

Manchester City: Ilkay Gundogan is ruled out until the beginning of November. Danilo is back in training and could make the final squad

Plus the pitch size really will play into the hands of City. Tottenham have lots of quality and they can certainly punish City, if the club are not at 100%. But this will surely be a game that City are motivated to win and we will back them with a decent price too.
