Match Preview:
This London derby will install Tottenham as odds on favourites and it would be a surprise to see Antonio Conte’s side drop points here. Tottenham have started the season in solid form and are in 3rd place with 11 points and just four behind Arsenal, and they have had the tougher fixtures. Already this season Tottenham have had to play in two other London derbies, drawing both against Chelsea and West Ham.
Conte has shown his frustrations already and has criticised VAR in the West Ham draw believing his side should have had a penalty, but deep down he must be happy with a start that has seen his club average 2 goals per game and Harry Kane is on fire too up front.
Fulham would have been one of the favourites to be relegated when the season started but they already have 8 points from 5 games and main forward Mitrovic has started the season so well. He’s always had promise but tended to get the goals in the Championship but he has already netted 5 times. The Cottagers pulled out their best result of the season in midweek as they beat in form Brighton 2-1 at home, they have earned seven of their eight points at home. So we can already see that Fulham may start to struggle away from home, although in their last game they almost drew against Arsenal.
Team News:
Tottenham: Rodrigo Bentancur looks set to miss out on this game because of a head injury. Bryan Gil is only 50/50 to return due to a knock. Lucas Moura is out with an on going tendon injury, Cristian Romero is 50/50 due to a lack of match fitness.
Fulham: Manor Soloman is out long term with a knee injury.

Tottenham should be winning these types of games and they will need to start quick and forget the points dropped at West Ham. Conte will want to forget that in the London derbies so far his side draw games not win them. But we should see an open game because Fulham are not afraid to attack, they only narrowly lost to Arsenal so they will show no fear here, of course if the home side click they could hammer their opponents.
But we should count ourselves lucky as there is a plethora of quality players that can score goals on show. Led by Harry Kane who is on form and Mitrovic for Fulham is scoring goals too and we think that they can both get on the score sheet again. The Cottagers are looking good in the early stages of the campaign to try and stay up and be bullish about it, they have plenty of experience of what it is like to come up and then go immediately down so we are seeing a different approach from them this time. All of the pressure is really on Tottenham as they are expected to win here, so Fulham can cause problems and just try to play their game. However we think Tottenham’s quality and their new self belief under Conte can shine through at home and we will be backing them to get off to a good start and win this game.
