England Premier League
Sunday 7th March 2021
Kick off at 7:15pm GMT
Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Match Preview:
Tottenham will be aiming to win their 3rd game in a row as they host Crystal Palace on Sunday evening. Tottenham have taken the bulls by the horn so to speak in the last 10 days and have looked better as a unit with more confidence and there seems to be a better atmosphere at the club.
The target for Spurs is to finish 4th and they are currently 5 points adrift of that objective but they do have a game in hand over Chelsea and they have a real chance to make the final cut. Tottenham looked slick against Burnley as they beat Sean Dyche’s team 4-0 and they followed that up with a hard fought victory at Fulham who themselves had been in decent form.
At home Tottenham have won their last 2 games scoring 6 goals without conceding, though some will look at the opposition in Burnley and West Bromwich Albion and hardly be impressed. Before that Tottenham lost 2 games to Liverpool and Chelsea, so that could tell you something about where the club really are at.
Crystal Palace have gone their last 3 games without defeat and the club continue to be stubborn and solid at the back and able to take points from teams high above them. Take their last game when they drew 0-0 with Manchester United as an example. Palace have earned 50% of their total points away from home though if they follow a recent pattern they would lose this game.
Team News:
Tottenham: Serge Aurier is expected to be back after his calf injury. Giovani Lo Celso could return for this game but may be rested until next week.
Crystal Palace: Nathaniel Clyne is out with a muscle injury. Nathan Ferguson has fitness issues and won’t make this game. James McArthur and James McCarthy are both out until April. Tyrick Mitchell has a muscle injury and looks set to miss the next 3 weeks at least. James Tomkins is out long term with his eye injury.
Tottenham vs Crystal Palace Head to Head:
Last season Tottenham won this fixture 4-0.
Earlier in the season the clubs drew 1-1.
In the league Tottenham have won the last 5 meetings in a row when at home.
Tottenham vs Crystal Palace Prediction:
When you consider the wealth of injuries that Crystal Palace have had to endure their season has been decent and with 34 points and 11 points clear of the bottom three one can conclude that Roy Hodgson’s side will be safe this season.
Palace do not lie down for anyone though and while we believe that Tottenham will have too much for the Eagles it will have to be a dig deep performance from the club like their last match against Fulham. Tottenham have the quality to score a few goals and Jose Mourinho will be hammering it home to his side that they need to score at least 2 to be safe.
We expect an open game and a good one but Tottenham should have enough to make it 9 points out of nine. We also think Gareth Bale looks good value to get on the scoresheet considering his recent form.
Tottenham vs Crystal Palace Betting Tips:
Tottenham to beat Crystal Palace at 1.50
Anytime goalscorer: Gareth Bale at 2.60
