England Premier League
Sunday 1st November 2020
Kick off at 7:15pm GMT
Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Match Preview:
Tottenham will be the favourites when they meet Brighton on Sunday but the facts remain that despite starting the season well the club have no wins at home.
A defeat against Everton and then two draws against Newcastle and West Ham would have Tottenham down as the sixth worst club in the league based on home form only but you get the feeling that they will get that record right come the weekend.
Overall Tottenham are in decent form with no defeats since that Everton loss and last weekend they beat Burnley 1-0. Their outstanding result so far was destroying Manchester United 6-1 at Old Trafford, something that Jose Mourinho would have loved though you get the sense he would have loved it even more with fans present.
Tottenham are in 5th place with 11 points and a win could see the club mixing in the top 3 depending on other results, but they will need to find a tad more consistency and winning back to back games would help, they could start that on Sunday.
In midweek the club were left disappointed in their Europa League group game as they lost 1-0 to Antwerp.
Brighton have just 1 win so far this season and are down in 16th and six points behind their hosts. A win would only take Graham Potter’s side a couple of places up but would install confidence and we shouldn’t forget that the club do come into this game with no defeats in their last two. Both of those encounters ended in draws against Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion.
Team News:
Tottenham: No injuries for Spurs coming into this match.
Brighton: Lewis Dunk is serving a 3 game suspension for his red card two weeks ago. Christian Walton has recovered from injury and is fighting for fitness and could be assessed ahead of the match.
Tottenham vs Brighton Head to Head:
Last season Tottenham won this fixture 2-1.
Tottenham have won the last 4 fixtures v Brighton in a row when at home.
Four from the seven recent games have been under 2.5 goals.
Tottenham vs Brighton Prediction:
For their quality and being at home Tottenham are just value to get the home win and we think they will. It is only a matter of time before the club pick up 3 points at home and they just need to start quick and have more of a killer instinct and see out the game.
Jose Mourinho has been kind to Gareth Bale letting the player ease into the team and hasn’t started him yet in a league game. He spoke recently about giving the player time and this is good talk from Mourinho, Bale would have appreciated that.
Tottenham are levels better than Brighton and if the club click they could score a few goals here and that means Son is great value at odds of 2.16 to score. We think Tottenham have the chance to win this game and that Brighton are here for the taking.
Tottenham vs Brighton Betting Tips:
