Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Match Preview:
There was huge disappointment for Tottenham last weekend as they were knocked out of the FA Cup, a competition that the club surely would have had an eye on. They were beaten 1-0 by Manchester City at home and it was in the very final stages to rub salt into the wounds. Now Tottenham will be back concentrating on the league and while some may have ruled them out of a serious title challenge from within the club they have the opposite view.
Tottenham are 8 points behind the league leaders Liverpool and in fifth place but they have already proven this season that they are able to put a good run of games together. Current form has seen one loss from their last five and their last game ended in a 2-2 draw with Manchester United, this followed a 3-1 win over Bournemouth. Home form has seen an impressive 70% win rate but with no games drawn as yet they have also lost 3 times as an example Wolves who sit in 11th place have lost less games at home. The club have won their last 3 games at home and they can’t at least move from fifth place given that West Ham who are in 6th are five points behind them.
Brentford are in 14th place with 22 points and the return of Ivan Toney did seem to spur the club on to a win in their last league game and that ended four defeats in a row as they beat Nottingham Forest 3-2. The Bees are not safe and there are only six points in it to drop down to the bottom three. On the road the club have collected just 7 points from a possible 27 and that includes losing their last four in a row, on away form alone they would be in 17th place and with only 9 goals scored on their travels only Sheffield United have converted fewer.

Tottenham vs Brentford Head to Head:
Last season Brentford won 3-1.
Earlier in the season in the reverse fixture the game finished 2-2 that was the 16th draw between the clubs from only 47 games.
The last 3 meetings in a row have seen both teams to score.
Tottenham vs Brentford Prediction:
With Ivan Toney in their side and hungry to repay Brentford’s loyalty to him when he was suspended the forward is raring to go and score goals, for now he will be completely focused and a danger. You have to worry for Thomas Frank’s side though with good key players ruled out for injuries and on international duty, they did get past Nottingham Forest in their last game but it was a close one in the end and was at home. We expect that the Bees will suffer more on the road now.
Tottenham will be looking to bounce back from their FA Cup misery and plus if they were to lose more ground to the top teams this is the week when we can probably confirm that their title hopes are over. The home side are also missing some quality players however they did well to draw 2-2 at Manchester United last time out and at home we expect them to pick up the win. Richarlison has been underwhelming overall this season but these are the opportunities that the Brazilian must take and we will be backing him to get a goal in the game.
