England Premier League
Wednesday 19th May 2021
Kick off at 6pm BST
Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Match Preview:
Tottenham’s win over Wolves at the weekend means they have won 3 of their last 4 matches in the Premier League. It also means for now they can mathematically finish in a top four spot unless Chelsea have won the night before. Even so that chance would be incredibly slim given the 4 point gap to Liverpool and the fact the club are in 5th place. At the end of the day the best Tottenham can hope for is Europa League qualification.
Still even if Tottenham were not able to reach their objectives this season the victory over Wolves means they have passed West Ham in the league, even if it is just on goal difference. Former manager Jose Mourinho did claim four months ago that Tottenham would finish above the Hammers when there was a then 9 point gap.
So form for Tottenham has been good with just 1 defeat in their last five games and the club would feel that a win here would cement their Europa League chances. Also the club are on a 3 game win streak at home and do in fact have the 2nd best home record in the league with 33 points earned from 54.
Aston Villa have dropped to 11th place and even with a strong finish may only be able to finish in 10th. Their performances especially in the second half of the season have not been up to scratch. Villa lost 3-2 at Crystal Palace in their last game and have won just 1 match from their last five. Away from home Villa have picked up 27 points so have gained more points on the road than at home but have also lost seven times and have been very inconsistent.
Team News:
Tottenham: Serge Aurier has recovered from a groin strain and could make this game.
Aston Villa: Tyrone Mings has recovered from a shin injury and could return. Matthew Cash has been ruled out for the season due to his hamstring.
Tottenham vs Aston Villa Head to Head:
Last season Tottenham won this fixture 3-1.

From the last 18 league meetings Aston Villa have managed just 1 win.
Tottenham vs Aston Villa Prediction:
History says a Tottenham win but so does current form. Tottenham can be suspect away from home but at home in the past month they have been rock solid and it is difficult to see past them.
Their attackers are obviously Tottenham’s greatest strength and in Harry Kane he will want to finish top of the goalscorers chart and currently has 22 alongside Mohamed Salah. Villa have simply been woeful in the past few months though will be happy to have quality like Jack Grealish playing and up to speed.
But not only do we see a home win but there should also be goals in this game and Tottenham love facing Villa so this should be an easy 3 points for Ryan Mason’s team.
Tottenham vs Aston Villa Betting Tips:
