England Premier League

Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: St Mary's Stadium
Match Preview:
Southampton have climbed up to 15th place and pushed their way out of the relegation zone and 4 points clear, and have gone their last 3 games without a loss. Much of this is down to Danny Ings who has been on fire and is in great form scoring goals. The Saints last game ended in a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace but recently they have beaten Aston Villa and Chelsea.
A win could take the club up 2-3 places but at home their record is not good, winning just 20% of their games. Whilst their overall record is poor it is worth noting that the clubs form has improved and they have lost just once here in their last 4 games, though they do seem to struggle against quality.
Tottenham come into this match in 6th place with 30 points and are 5 points away from their objective of 4th place. Under new manager Jose Mourinho the club have looked dangerous coming forward but leaky at the back and defence really has to get sorted out. The club dropped another two points in their last game drawing 2-2 against Norwich away from home. Considering they were losing the game twice this was a decent result in the end. They have gained 10 points from their last 15 and have lost 1 game in their last five.
On the road Tottenham have won 20% of their games, though since Mourinho has been in charge that has gone up to 50%. The club have conceded in all of the 4 away games that Mourinho has presided over, which is unusual really as Mourinho managed teams are usually known for being very hard to break down.
Team News:
Southampton: Shane Long is out with a knee injury, he is the Saints only new major concern coming into this game
Tottenham: Heung-Min Son is serving his 3 game ban after being sent off vs Chelsea. The club have no new injury concerns
Southampton vs Tottenham Head to Head:
Last season Southampton won this game 2-1.
Tottenham have not won at Southampton since 2016.
The last 8 meetings in a row has seen both teams to score.
Southampton vs Tottenham Prediction:
Tottenham have not been truly convincing under Mourinho yet but they should have quality to get all three points here, though we thought the same against Norwich. Mourinho has given the team a dressing down and he knows the gap to 4th will increase by too much if the club don’t find consistency. Both teams to score has an incredible record and we will back this given that Tottenham’s defence has been so suspect. We expect to see a really entertaining game with plenty of goals, and we just feel that Southampton are a dangerous team to be playing at the moment and could get something out of this encounter despite not being the favourites.
