Southampton vs Sheffield Utd: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 26th July 2020
Kick off at 4pm BST
Venue: St Mary's Stadium

Match Preview:

For the Saints this season has been a season of two halves. The first one was poor to average but in the second manager Ralph Hassenhutl’s vision is being realised and the club have vastly improved. They will miss out on Europe but have played some very good football with stand out memories this season, one of the best ones was beating Manchester City of course at this very stadium.

Home form has been poor and that is something the club will really need to work on next season.

Sheffield United have done very well but have looked a little tired in the final few weeks. It has been quite a campaign and Chris Wilder’s side have taken many fans breath away with their remarkable season. The problem for the Blades when it comes to away games is that they have drawn too many the most in the league and if only they had been converted to wins.

The clubs have hardly played each other in the modern era and this game is in fact only their 2nd ever meeting in the Premier League.

Southampton vs Sheffield Utd Prediction:

We are going to back the home team to get something from this game. Sheffield United can more than hold their own in these type of games but we have seen vast improvement for the Saints over he course of the last few weeks especially at home and their manager deserves a great last team performance. We also expect that man Danny Ings to be a likely goals scorer too, he's certainly shown his class this season.
