England Premier League

Kick off at 7:30pm GMT
Venue: St Mary's Stadium
Match Preview:
Nathan Jones is already under pressure as manager of Southampton as he tries to do his best to steer the team out of the bottom three but for now that looks like a difficult job.
Southampton come into their 18th game of the season bottom of the league and have lost 11 times already however if they win here and other results go their way there is a possibility of them escaping the bottom three. The omens do not look good though as they have lost their last five games. The Saints latest defeat came against Fulham in a game they lost 2-1 and the worries continue given that they also have the worst home record in the league where they have won just 6 points from a possible 24. It’s also just 1 win at home but this game is a real six pointer in the sense that Nottingham Forest are in 18th place and also in the bottom three.
Nottingham Forest have lost 9 games so far with just one win in their last five games but they did record a very motivating victory in their last game as they drew 1-1 at home to Chelsea. It was important for Forest as they were trailing in that game and that may well give them a nice bounce coming into this one. On the road has been where most of the problems have been for Forest with no wins so far and just 2 points earned from a possible 24.
Team News:
Southampton: Juan Larios, Valentino Livramento and Alex McCarthy are all doubts with a muscle, knee and ankle injury respectively. It looks like this game will come too soon for Theo Walcott who has a calf injury.
Nottingham Forest: The club has no new injuries but there is a long list of long term absentees that include Giulian Biancone, Cheikhou Kouyate, Jesse Lingard, Moussa Niakhate and Omar Richards.
Southampton vs Nottm Forest Head to Head:

Southampton vs Nottm Forest Prediction:
Would anyone be surprised if in the end both of these sides were relegated? This is a huge six pointer and you’d have to worry for both clubs this season. But the difference is perhaps in the managerial department. Nathan Jones may end up becoming a good manager after valuablee experience but he looks quite out of his depth at this moment in time. Steve Cooper is a solid manager with a very difficult job of having too large a squad, this is when his man management skills come into the fore and even though he will be letting himself down many more times this season it feels as if out of the two managers on parade here that Cooper has more quality. This could well determine the outcome of this game because it should be closely fought and be quite close.
This is a game won on tactics and we will be backing the away side to get something from this match against a very poor Southampton side and one which is low on confidence.
