England Premier League
Sunday 24th November 2019
Kick off at 4.30pm GMT
Venue: Bramall Lane
Match Preview:
The two United’s will clash in what is the only Sunday game in the Premier League this weekend due to other teams having Champions League commitments and having to play on Saturday.
Sheffield United are in very good form and far and away punching above their weight, and that could be bad news for Manchester United who really need the points and need to start going on a winning run.
The Blades have cut a few teams down to size and they would love to do that to United. They come into this game in 5th place and even though some of their recent results have been dogged by draws they are unbeaten in their last 5 games. Before the break they drew 1-1 at Tottenham but everyone knows they had a good goal ruled out for a winner. They have beaten the likes of Arsenal and Burnley lately and continue to show good consistency.
At home they have the odd record of winning 3 and losing 3 with no draws. But the encouraging sign is that they have won their last 2 home games and have scored 4 goals in those matches without conceding.
Manchester United continue to show a lack of consistency and have picked up 7 points from the last 15. Before the break they beat Brighton 3-1 which was one of their better performances of the season. The problem is that the club remain poor on the road with just 1 win all season and 3 losses from their last four. Their last away game ended in a 1-0 loss against Bournemouth.
United come into this game in 10th place with 16 points and a win could take them into the top 5, so this is perhaps their biggest match and test so far.
Team News:
Sheffield United: John Egan is tipped to return for this game after his calf injury and will face a late test. Dean Henderson is ineligible to face his parent club and misses out.
Manchester United: Nemanja Matic could make his comeback for this game after a lack of match fitness. Marcus Rojo is out with a muscle injury, and Paul Pogba’s ankle is still a problem and his return has been delayed
Sheffield Utd vs Man Utd Head to Head:
The last time the teams met was in 2006 when Manchester United won 2-1.
The teams have only met 3 times within the last 15 years which Manchester United have won every game.
There is a 66% chance to see under 2.5 goals.
Sheffield Utd vs Man Utd Prediction:
Manchester United have the better team but can’t be trusted, it’s a very simple case that they are very poor on the road. Plus we need to respect Sheffield United who have been solid this season, they will be up for this game, try to upset United and put even more pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
For that reason we are going to back Chris Wilder’s side but of course United do remain a danger and this could be a very close game so we will also back few goals to be scored. It will be a very interesting game and tell us where Sheffield United are at at this moment, but we must remember that they have recently beaten a regular top six side in Arsenal at home.
