Match Preview:
It can’t be easy to be Chris Wilder at the moment, nothing is going right for him and his team who keep on facing the misery at the bottom of the table. In midweek Sheffield United lost their 16th game of the season from 22 games but like in other moments they were leading in that game and had not played too badly. However Crystal Palace were able to comeback and win 3-2. This has left the Blades not just in last place but considering their terrible goal deficit 10 points from safety. They are professionals, no one is throwing in the towel just yet but they are a club who look relegated already, it’s when they continue to lose their home games that relegation feels bold and underlined.
The Blades last home game did finish in a 2-2 draw with West Ham and they have been able to win four points from their last nine here however there is no disguising the fact that the Blades have lost 7 of their 11 home games so far. Is there any hope for the home side? Well if they won here and Burnley lost suddenly they would have climbed up to 19th place, so the battle is not lost just yet.
Aston Villa lost their first home game of the season and it happened in midweek as they were never in the game losing 3-1 to Newcastle. Villa have had high hopes this season but is their campaign unravelling? Unai Emery’s side have won just once from the last 4 games and a 0-0 draw against Everton was followed by the Newcastle defeat. There is no danger for Villa to fall from 5th spot not just yet as they enter the weekend seven points ahead of 6th placed West Ham. However after such a solid first half to the season Emery and the club must have been thinking there is a possibility to qualify for next season's Champions League, there still is as 4th placed Tottenham are only ahead on goal difference. Football moves quickly though and Villa have to make sure not to be left behind. On the road Villa have won 15 points from a possible 33 and in the last two months they have only won once away which was against Brentford.

Sheffield Utd vs Aston Villa Prediction:
Is there any hope for the home side? Well if they win here and Burnley lose suddenly they would climb up to 19th place, so the battle is not lost just yet. Sheffield United will battle hard in this game against a good side but also against a side who have taken some confidence knocks in the past few weeks.
We expect to see a fiery and physical game and wouldn’t be surprised if this one ended in a draw, but we are going to back Villa to bounce back. Perhaps finally losing at home may have freed up the side in one way, that can happen, of course the flipside could be the start of a very poor run, we will certainly know more by the end of this weekend. Villa are decent odds though and if they can click and score first the Blades are going to be on the backfoot.
