England Premier League
Monday 21st October 2019
Kick off at 8pm BST
Venue: Bramall Lane
Match Preview:
Monday night will see Sheffield United take on Arsenal in a game which proposes to be a very entertaining encounter.
Sheffield United have pulled off some decent results including beating Everton 2-0 and drawing 2-2 at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea but they are realising just how difficult the Premier League is and despite some positive matches are still in 15th place with 9 points. They have won 2 games so far this season but their last match finished in a 0-0 draw away to bottom club Watford.
At home the Blades have one of the worst records in the league with 1 win and 3 defeats and that includes losing their last three. Those losses have come against Leicester, Southampton and Liverpool and the best the club can take from those is that in every game they were in it until the end, and they have only conceded 4 goals in four games. At the same time they have only scored 2 goals at home.
Arsenal would go 3rd with victory and remain impressive with just one loss so far this season. Defender David Luiz has suggested the club could win the league this season, and whilst Luiz is wide of the mark at least he is showing fighting power and wants to lead his team by example. At this moment the Gunners objective is to finish higher than Tottenham and get a top four place and try and install some pride in a club which seems to have been missing for the last few seasons.
Unai Emery is making progress, but it still feels quite start/stop for the club, evidenced in the fact that they have drawn 3 of their last 5 games, but in Pierre Emerick Aubameyang the Gunners genuinely have a superb centre forward.
Arsenal’s problems remain, especially away from home, they have struggled on the road for the past few years and disappointingly this season looks no different thus far. With 4 games played on the road they have just 1 victory, which came against Newcastle on the opening weekend of the season. Their last away match finished in a 1-1 draw at Manchester United.
