Betting Tip Previews:Our first selection (Asian handicap 0.0 Platanias) is my preferred choice on this terrible day of football fixtures. Platanias are a mid-table side in the Greece Super League who have a strong home record of 7 wins, 4 draws, and only 1 loss which surprisingly was against Xanthi and not Olympiakos who they actually deservedly held to a 2-2 draw. Although they are in a mid-table position, they still have a chance of making the Super League Play-offs and qualifying for European competition next season as they are only 5 points behind AEK with a game in hand, so they still have plenty of incentive to be trying to win games. Their recent form has also been good, losing only one of their last 7 league games, and once again that was against Xanthi who appear to be a bit of a bogey team for Platanias. Their opponents today (Iraklis) are currently fighting a relegation battle, and with only 2 wins from their 24 league games this season it's easy to see why. Their main problem has been scoring goals, with only 18 scored in 24 games, which is the 2nd poorest goal scoring record in the league, and this is even more evident away from home where they have only managed 5 goals in 11 games, yet have conceded 18. Therefore, despite this not being the ideal league to be betting in, and Platanias isn't a team i would look to try and use normally, there should still be very little risk of them losing to an Iraklis side who have so little fire power and ability to win games.
Our second selection (Draw no bet - Entella) may carry a little more risk as their opponents today Salernitana aren't a terrible side. Entella have been in good form recently, not losing in their last 5 games, and have only lost 1 home game all season, and it would be fair to say they could blame that on having a player sent off after only 4 minutes. So generally speaking with a home record of 9 wins, 4 draws, and 1 red card affected loss, they are a difficult team to beat at Stadio Comunale. They are also one of the higher scoring home sides in the Serie B with an average of 2 goals per game, but their defence is also strong with less than 1 goal being conceded per home game. Salernitana struggle for wins on the road, with just 2 away league wins all season, which is largely due to a lack of goal threat because they are defensively quite strong with only 19 goals conceded from 15 away games. However if they have only managed to scored 12 goals, then away wins will be difficult to come by. Salernitana are in threat of being dragged into a relegation battle, which could give them added incentive and make them more dangerous but Entella are within reach of the play-off positions, so both teams have plenty of incentive. I see this as a tougher game than our first selection, but Entella with home advantage should have enough to get something out of the game, and with the draw covered this selection has a little extra safety.
