Nottm Forest vs Newcastle: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League

Kick off at 5:30pm GMT
Venue: City Ground

Match Preview:

Nottingham Forest remain in real danger of being involved in a relegation fight and currently they are in 16th place with 21 points and just two above the bottom three. Forest did stop a two game losing run by drawing 1-1 with Bournemouth away from home in their last game. Still they will try to look for the positives and have won 7 points from their last 15. Overall form may be a concern though at home with 4 defeats from their last five but they have had some tough games too which includes their latest home match which ended in a 2-1 defeat against Arsenal. If everything went their way it is possible that Forest could finish up the weekend as high as 14th place and this is a pressure game knowing that Luton could go past them too. In fact we talk about climbing to 14th place but there is another scenario where they could end up in the bottom three.

Newcastle may have stopped the rot and at least have gone their last two games unbeaten after a brilliant 3-1 win away to Aston Villa, that was also Villa’s first home defeat of the season. However there were mixed feelings in their next game as they drew 4-4 with Luton. In one sense the result was good given that the Magpies were losing 4-2 but in another sense that was a game they were expected to win. Newcastle are in 9th place with 33 points and it is clear that they will not be able to repeat last season's top four finish. This is mostly down to their poor away form which has seen just 8 points won from 33 and they have lost seven games on the road so far.

Nottm Forest vs Newcastle Head to Head:

Last season Newcastle won this fixture 2-1.

There is a 70% chance to see both teams to score.

Earlier in the season in the reverse fixture Nottingham Forest won 3-1.

Nottm Forest vs Newcastle Prediction:

Had Newcastle come here with a full squad this would have been a difficult game for Forest but you have to wonder how Newcastle are going to be able to get a positive result with more injuries and this time it is to in form player Anthony Gordon. Newcastle did pull off an impressive win over Aston Villa but Forest are a stable side at home and they only recently beat Newcastle, we believe in taking the value on Forest and they have a joker card up their sleeve in forward Taiwo Awoniyi who they have missed at times this season through injury, he is back and looking sharper by every passing week.

Nottm Forest vs Newcastle Betting Tips:

Double chance (Nottingham Forest or draw) at 1.77

Anytime goalscorer: Taiwo Awoniyi at 2.50
