Norwich vs West Ham: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 11th July 2020
Kick off at 12.30pm BST
Venue: Carrow Road

Match Preview:

The weekend batch of games in the Premier League kicks off with two struggling clubs at lunch time. Though of course Norwich would love to swap positions with West Ham, the Canaries are heavy odds on to be relegated now.

The points difference between the teams is 10, and that says a lot about Norwich because West Ham by their own admission have been poor this season. If Norwich lose then they will be relegated, so being at home they have at least this motivation to drive them. However they have won just once in their last 10 games and even at home have only been able to win 15 points from 51.

West Ham have been up and down, and they restarted the league in poor fashion but then they beat Chelsea 3-2 and drew 2-2 up at Newcastle. A recovery looked on and the club moved 4 points clear of the relegation zone. The only problem is that they then lost against Burnley at home, it is possible that the Hammers could get reeled in again and this is why this game is so important.

The Hammers away form is not good as they have lost 10 games from 17 and earned just 1 point on the road from their last five matches.

Team News:

Norwich:  Cantwell is doubtful with a thigh inury.

West Ham: Felipe Anderson is questionable to recover from a thigh injury. Snodgrass will not play due to a lower back inury.

Norwich vs West Ham Head to Head:

Earlier in the season West Ham won the reverse fixture 2-0.

The teams have not played here since 2016 when the game finished 2-2.

Norwich have not beaten West Ham since 2013.

West Ham have scored at least 1 goal v Norwich in the last 7 meetings in a row.

Norwich vs West Ham Prediction:

On paper West Ham should have no trouble winning the game but it is evident and especially this season that the club really struggle with mid table and bottom table teams. At times they can raise their game against better opposition and give them a game. As for Norwich this is set to be it, even if they win they will have to face the fact that they will be going down this season. We could well see an entertaining game of football, lots of end to end action as West Ham try and move another 3 points clear, this is why for us both teams to score looks like a stand out bet here.

Norwich vs West Ham Betting Tips:

Both teams to score at 1.75

Anytime goalscorer: Andriy Yarmolenko at 3.10
