England Premier League
Wednesday 24th June 2020
Kick off at 6pm BST
Venue: Carrow Road
Match Preview:
Of course Norwich were the favourites before the football break to be relegated from the Premier League and with one game played they remain that way.
The Canaries lost at home 3-0 to Southampton and whilst a defeat is one thing, the way they lost will have worried manager Daniel Farke. His side had just 1 shot on target the whole game and any dreams of a miracoulous escape look well off. However because of how other games played out Norwich didn’t actually lose any ground and the gap to safety is still the same at 6 points.
Everton had their chances against rivals Liverpool in the Merseyside derby but most were in agreement that we had witnessed quite a dull match as it ended 0-0. What we learned was that a derby played with no fans simply isn’t a derby, and the match simply had an eeriness about it.
Carlo Ancelotti will be glad with a point though, Everton became only the 3rd side this season to take points from the Reds, and of course a clean sheet is always welcomed. The Toffees could move into the top 10 with a win and depending on other results, and Ancelotti will feel that a win is long overdue for the club. It’s been 4 games now since his side tasted victory. Everton have struggled on the road this season, losing 9 games from 15 and have conceded 7 goals in their last two away encounters.
Team News:
Norwich: Sam Bryam has a hamstring injury and has been ruled out for the rest of the season. Grant Hanley also has a hamstring injury and has also been ruled out for the remainder of the season. And to top things off for the club Christoph Zimmerman is out for the rest of the season with a back injury.
Everton: Fabian Delph has struggled with a muscle injury but he will be assessed ahead of the game. Yerry Mina will have a late test on his thigh and Djibril Sidibe has a knock but is expected to recover.
Norwich vs Everton Head to Head:
Earlier in the season Norwich beat Everton 2-0 in the reverse fixture.
Everton have not beaten Norwich since 2016, losing the last two meetings.
The last time the clubs played at Carrow Road was in 2015 when the game finished 1-1.
6 of the last 9 league games have seen both teams to score.
Norwich vs Everton Prediction:
Norwich look defeated before the fight and manager Farke will want some sort of response in this game after the Southampton implode. The problem is that Norwich are the bottom placed club and they are facing a very decent Everton side under Ancelotti.
For Everton this could have been seen as a potential banana skin, just look at how the club at home this season lost to the same team. But we can’t see that happening in this game. If so it would be worrying for the club and one could think they would have taken a backward step. But Everton should be able to ride some of the storm and attacks that Norwich will inevitably have and ease to victory.
Norwich vs Everton Betting Tips:
